Hail Caesar delivers a great mass battle game in a few hours - we just fought Hastings with almost 1500 figures on the table in six hours

Smaller games can easily be run in less time

Plus you can tinker with the rules to deliver the game you are looking for

I have a full write up on the blog

Nice. I started on some of mine today, but they are too small to have miniatures between the models. I will see if Warbases make larger bases for 20 mm single bases. How large are your bases?

Cheers

The firate ones will be from Old Glory. But I think I will try to get some from Warlord and foundry as well.

Well since Dr.Z dropped that I had also decided to get back on this project way back in March I guess I better post some of my progress. I have actually painted quite a bit more by the bases are not ready yet.

However, my seapeople are so I will start off with those guys.

I love seapeople. It's impossible to find any decent info on where they can from or how they looked, but I guarantee you that every single ancient wargame rules worth it's salt have an armylist for seapeople and quite a few companies make them. The true power of our small needy communite lol. We can use stuff if its cool!

The miniatures are from Redoubt and the command group from Foundry. As always Redoubt miniatures are not the prettiest before painting, but a lot can be salvaged with some paint and basing. The main reason I continue to buy them is the dynamic poses and the huge range of extra stuff. Be carfull though. The miniatures are HUGE. Especially compared with Warlords/Cutting Edge bronze age miniatures. They work well with Foundry though.

I have used Dr. Z basing idea so that they can work for both single based- and unit games.

Firts unit of 12 (16 when based)

Second unit

cheers
Erik

Brilliant! There are indeed few sources on the Sea People. There is a famous depiction at Medinet Habu where they are shown with their horned helmets.
The lack of information has also spurned a lot of really craz! But interesting research. Some older theses even try to connect them with European mercenaries that went south.
