A good old Bronze Age bash, looks rather smashing!  :-* Colourful troops, nice terrain, vignettes, and a theme-flavoured scenario – what's not to like? Many thanks for sharing.

Amazing and beautiful set up.  Tempting me to get back into the era again.  One thing though, you have Aeneas and Paris fighting each other?  There are both Trojans.

Aeneas is a Trojan ally, and one w/ aspirations to the throne, according to this or that source. (I don't recall any more!) Certainly enough for a little rivalry that could blossom into combat...

Nick, I'm ready to let my Trojans go, so if you're serious, drop me a line.

If I were to give in again, I'd probably go with the beautiful Caesar plastics in 1/72nd, or maybe even the Lodi 1/32nd.

For the game it was every man for himself. Achilles also fought some vicious battles against both Ajax and Odysseus.

The Illiad is rife with internal struggle so we thought it fine to have everyone fight everyone.

This project is not totally dead yet!

We played a game og Hail Ceasar with our collections. It is the first time we had all our stuff on the table as just two massive armies. We just plonked everything on the table and had a pitched battle.

The setup.

My chariot division on my right flank surged full speed ahead almost making it into contact.

The Hittite chariots advanced on my left flank but a bit more cautious.

That meant they were within javelin range of most of my infantry who peppered them with all sorts of missiles effectively halting them in their tracks.

My own chariot flank drove the Lukka division back and almost managed to drive them off the table but in the end all the infantry proved to much and my remaining chariots made a tactical retreat satisfied with effectively having removed the Lukka division from the game. There was no way they would reach and reinforce the massive melee in the centre.

The two centerdivisions clashed on a hillside in the centre of the battlefield. Both sides took heavy casualties. But in the end the high ground of my Mycheneans proved decisive. And as the Hittite chariots had been routed my left flank could swing round to reinforce my centre. And that was it. A victory to the Mycheneans. And a joy to have these fellas on the table once more.

thats a proper looking battle!! Fantastic!

I am working on something similar for War & Conquest along with a full campaign book, details/links on the War & Conquest FB page and a couple of pics on the 'ProjectTroy' thread
