Cool!
You could use the missile one as a manticore and the other as a xhimera or that horrid "taurox" thing

Cheers Norgrim. I could use the armoured cars as "counts as" vehicles but as I still play 4th edition 40K I'm using the old Vehicle Design Rules (VDR) to give them their own stats (see the blog post below)

Very cool.  Have you considered the Buffel or whatever armored car?  Weird with a V-shaped hull, and someone on this board makes an MDF kit of it. It would almost fit your sand-troopers aesthetic.

Keep going, you're crackin' along on this project!

Cheers Elbows always looking for alternative vehicles for my 40K armies. While I love the idea of STC vehicles in 40K it just doesn't sit right, in my mind, that across a million worlds and different human cultures of the Imperium they all use the same two dozen vehicles. Forge world does some good stuff in that respect but most is way out of my budget. So for someone like me who likes kit bashing and isn't a competition gamer the VDR rules are a great add on to my 40K games.

So the Redroran Rangers 1500pt army is finished (yay :D)

I completed the last squad the special weapons squad from the command platoon

and the whole army looks like this

for anyone who is interested you can follow the process of creating this army as well as background fluff and army list on my blog here

https://diablocrusade.wordpress.com/category/redroran-rangers/

So I started this 40K project in January with a view to finishing off a lot of half (or less) completed projects I had laying around the man cave and having reached the beginning of May I've now completed two useable 40K armies I think this may the most productive I've been in years.

Next up opponents for my Ranger army I'm back to Chaos (sort of ) with the Brotherhood of Spite....

Yeah. I think I started modeling these guys about two years ago then got distracted (as I'm prone to do) and they spent the next two years staring accusingly at me from a shelf in my man cave......It's nice to have finally got them finished.

That's why I usually put those guys in a box, inside a crate and shove it into a cupboard to keep them out of sight.

well done, are these only the defiance games minis or are there other bits in there?

*The legs, bodies and most of the arms are from the old Defiance games USMC (kept the guns added GW lasgun barrels to them)
* helmeted heads are from Anvil industry (though they no longer seem to produce them)
* beret heads are crooked dices 7TV range
* Loads of extra GW parts from my bits box (Catchan heads, heavy weapon, back packs)
* some arms from Victoria miniatures (mostly heavy weapons crews)
* some officer arms from Hersey miniatures (officer accessory sprue)

probably a few other random parts from bits box to.

OK it's been a while since I updated this thread but I finally have something new to add to this project at last. I finally got around to painting up the miniatures I got from the Return to Colony 87 kickstarter. So I've assembled a planetary governor and his retinue.

More for those interested on my Blog here

Nicely done
