Interactions of "Leap"
« on: 13 February 2016, 10:10:42 AM »
Hi all, in the campaign I'm running, "Leap" seems like a godly level spell (which I love) but a few questions about it:

1. If a model is carrying treasure, is the 10" move halved?
2. Does the leaping model ignore terrain?
3. Does the model engage other models of moving past them within an inch?

Cheers, just need a bit I clarity! :)

Good questions, I'm not sure but would be interested to know. You might be best asking that in the rules thread at the top where Joe or someone else in the know might be more likely to pick it up? :)

1: It's a spell, so I would say no, since the spell is what moves the model, not it's own muscles.
2: As it says on the description, yes, unless it is over 10" high. Again, the model is magically transported ( but not teleported )  by magical means, so it has nothing to do with terrain effects other than mentioned.
3: No, see "Movement by Spell" description on page 34 of the Rule Book for an explanation.

The model ignores terrain for horizontal and for up but it does not protect you from falling at all. Example: if your figure is in a tower 6" up and you cast leap to move him if he ends his movement more than 3" lower than where he started he takes falling damage as per normal. So if you lept to another building that was 3" high he would be fine but if you leap to the ground he would take 9 pts of falling damage. (a good note a ring of slow fall is great for fixing this)
