Aaand we're symmetrical again!  ;D

It wasn't as difficult as I had feared, even though the left and right sides are not exact mirrors (there are some (very) minor differences), but if anyone is able to see both sides simultaneously on the table, I suppose there are other, more urgent problems to be addressed first... lol

Also, I shaped the second head light, so the symmetry does not end with just the exhaust pipes either.

Next stop will be the front fenders, which will be closed up, before proceeding to the biggest challenge; the cab and roof. Can't wait... :D
Miniatures you say? Well I too, like to live dangerously...

Yip, it's official......it's going to be a stonker! :o

I always love the detail you put into your builds mate. And if those headlights are any sign, we're not going to be disappointed! :-*

Thanks gents; that coming from some of LAF's resident master builders does not add pressure at all...  ;D

Very nice - I'm trying to picture it in colour already  :D

Think black and purple, with gold details and chrome pipes then... ;)

Some small progress again; I closed off the front fenders, to give it a sleeker look. The glue has to dry first before I can sand the whole side of the fender/wheel well flush.

Eventually, there will be raised detail in the form of a decorative strip all along the vehicle. I'm thinking either some old school 2nd edition gothic spikey type borders or, alternatively, borders styled in some sort of Tyranid/tribal look, as can be found in the 2nd ed. codex.

I'm leaning towards the 'Nid idea right now. This is going to require some freehand designing I guess... ::)

Awesome work! Especially on the pipes. Bending plastic tubing is a real PIA. Props to you.

Cultist: "Do think the genestealer headlights are too obvious?"

Cult Magister: "Nahhh...they look great! Don't worry about it."

Hey, Daeothar, what's the latest - we're starved of progress! :D Appreciate that ol' real life might be intruding, but hope you have time to post the latest soon as it will be great to see where you're at with this.

Bert

Aarch!  ;D Guilty of succumbing to the 'ooh shiney' demon (yet again); I got sidetracked and repainted a host of X-Wing minis instead... :D

That usually happens when my flow gets interupted/broken. Either by realworld factors or by snags in the process. And as it is, I'm kind of on the fence on how to proceed with the roof, and by extension, with the rest of the bodywork as well.

I dug out a veritable traffic jam of 1/43 thirties cars from my interbellum project as reference, lining them up in a semblance of design evolution. I'm torn between a look like the car Dezmond posted (top of page 2) or a more swept/aerodynamical look. The last one is more modern, with the roof and side walls being integrated and rounded, where the older design has straight side walls, with a flat  'stuck on' roof, usually a seperate part.

The older design is easier on the build, where the newer design is easier on the eyes. ;)

In the meantime, I did make running boards inbetween the wheel wells though. With a diamond plate surface. You know; for those inevitable cultist bodyguards hanging on to the vehicle during riding tours, parades etc...

I promise to post updates soon again. Only Slave 1 and the Andrasta to finish up, and I'll be up to date with my X-Wing repaints again. Until my Gozanti arrives that is... ::)

Equally guilty - in my case by Ad Mech and Space Marine flyer conversions - at least I have the (fragile) excuse they're antagonists to the GS cult.
