To be fair it's had a bit of a rushed paintjob.

Could be useful if they sell individual components.

cheers

You are absolutely right James....with such a high value item the photo should have been stunning. Sure there are plenty of great painters here on the forum who could have done a much better job for a small commission

its the marketing that will sell this...

That price :o
Im actively looking for a useable castle set rather than building my own
(for a change)But for that kind of money l could build one and buy a shed to keep it in.
I don't think its just the painting that's not doing it justice. It has the same stale feel as the original mighty fortress set .as series of universal parts clubbed together, with a that'll do note to it.It leaves a lot to be desired.
That may come across as a tirade of negativity. No doubt someone will.part with their money.i will not be one of them. Its a very disappointing set for the money.
So my quest continues and at this rate I may end up.like James and go one little blue brick at a time.

Any recommendations for a useable set other than the ones mentioned?
Mark.

$305.00 USD. I'm thinking...no. That's almost on a par with DwarvenForge.

I believe that Tabletop Workshop was planning on selling sections/parts separately so you could make walls and towers taller, add square towers etc

See, that set up right there would probably take 3 of the castle sets and that doesn't count the cottages.

Probably should have left it in grey plastic rather than an okay paintjob. I'm sure plenty of people out there would have painted it to a high standard for free if just given the kit.

I think Vatican enterprises sells the Hudson and Alan castle for 260 used. I bought this one years ago and it is very nice. Bigger than the citadel. Maybe an alternative product

Ah, Warlord Games, those rapacious resurrectionists of believed-dead wargames companies and products...  ;)

I was interested in this when it first appeared as the Tabletop Workshop product, even though it looks far too neat and regular.

But now we have the forthcoming Renedra kit, which I FAR prefer the look of. So that's what I'm going to be using as the basis of my castle, when I finally get around to it...

Like Painterman and others, I'm a big fan and supporter of the Hudson & Allen products for medieval.

Just one guy's opinion...

Yep!! The old Ian Weekly models are classics and will remain so until the end of time!  :)
