Love the trolls :-)

Fourth troll complete. A standard bearer, carrying aloft a blood drenched banner.

Morning folks. Wanting a break from painting blue troll skin, I turned my attention to some Bob Olley orcs that I ordered from Ral Partha last week. I didn't want a super bright green skin like I use for my 4th Edition Warhammer stuff, but a more "realistic" green hue.

Another Orc. Great fun to paint. These are probably my most favourite Orc models ever as are the trolls. Bob Olley has managed to capture so much detail and character with each sculpt.

The Gargantua orcs from Ral Partha are also a favorite of mine, pity that they are so expensive  :(

Thanks for the comments chaps. Plenty more of these to paint, but taking a break from them for now to paint other things.

Hi folks. Returning to my fantasy stuff for a little while. Last week I made some test pieces for a HeroQuest board which came out pretty good but they weren't what I wanted for my generic darker fantasy dungeon crawls being too brightly painted. So I set to making the dungeon I have always wanted. I'd toyed with the idea up to now of a resin dungeon set like Dwarven Forge or Ainsty or even a card set like Battle Systems awesome layout. In the end it came down to cost and the fact I have some ability at making half decent terrain.

So without further waffle here is the first test tile for my dungeon. The initial dungeon will have 12 tiles similar to this with varying room and door set ups.

Thanks. I have a week off work so I'm hoping to get a few more done. Got lots of ideas I want to do.

Lovely painting on those orcs and trolls.

Well if you have the time and patience, there is a method floating around called the Wyloch tile system. It's basically Dwarven forge scratch built except with a 1.25 grid for larger minis.

Episode 1 the case. There are caves and dungeons as well so far, maybe more

Thanks for the video. I'd already come to that conclusion myself. My tiles are based on 30mm squares to allow for the walls occupying some of the space so that I can still place minis on the squares.

As i tend to favour evil armies I already have lots of dungeon creatures, so thought it was about time I painted some more heroes. This mini I got for donating to the Frothers Charity 2012. Glad I've finally got around to painting it.
