Unless it's going to be kept in the damp, it shouldn't decompose, it should just dry out and become brittle and even then the core of the stick shoudl last - after all, how long does dried, uncured untreated wood last indoors? Quite a while. The biggest issue is that bark will flake off as the twigs dry, but if the sticks were firm and the bark wasn't loose when you grabbed the stick, even this won't be a problem for years and years. It really depends on the condition of the sticks when you found them. For the helmet part, the bark has already separated, so I would be worried most about that flaking to bits.

I joined my gun with pirate swords, and sailed the seas of cyberspace.

Infantry support for the big guy  8)
These are on 40mm bases, they stand about 8cm tall. Smaller joints meant more of the glue from the hot glue gun was visible, so I added greenery to these to cover the glue.

And the group shot

Both of these figures are impressive.
I thought that that I could do wargaming on the cheap but you have taught me a lesson with this. :D
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.
