Help needed: Looking for "Terrorbirds"
« on: May 08, 2016, 06:43:34 AM »

Hello there!

So, for a while now I have been looking for some Terrorbird miniatures...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phorusrhacidae

... but I just cant find what Im looking for.
There is a handful of models, but they are either too small, too big/tall or there is only a single pose.

But maybe some of you can help me... so, what Im looking for is:

Terrorbird miniatures, large enough that you can put some 28mm scale riders on them and use them as mount...
but small enough that they fit on standard cavalry bases (2,5x5cm)

And three, four different poses would suffice...

Any ideas?

Thanks for any help you can offer, guys!

I have the Shadowsea Skullcracker Bird, lovely sculpt but probably too big for your needs.

Searching I found Blight Wheel:

There's also Maidenhead Miniatures:

Reaper axebeak is perfect for size, although mounting a rider could be problematic due to the wings.

Don't know the actual size, and looks like single pose, but there is another Axebeak from Pacesetter Games.

I think d&d or pathfinder had some prepaints of terror birds that were well done.

Mage Knight made (makes?) a Desert Warbird that has a saddle. Lots of dealers still have these.

The last Pathfinder set had terrorbirds. You can grab a bunch from EBay for $3-4 each. Not saying I did...  ;)

With some rebasing, there are the older mage knight ones that would be great if you stripped them...
