Wherein I paint Game of Thrones. Wolfswood rangers 13/3
« on: May 15, 2016, 02:50:09 PM »
Heya, if you are just now checking out this thread in say 2020, bear with me for a few pages. Photography gets better and better if I may say so myself.

Ahoy folks. I mostly paint Warmachine and Hordes, have amassed some Frostgrave by now, and like everyone else I got inspired by the fantastic Game of Thrones projects going on on this board, so decided to have a go myself. Mostly I'll see if I can keep posting stuff in this thread, I seem to always drop off and get frustrated because I'm a terrible photographer.

With any luck, there will be a Renedra castle on show soon, as well as more Stark and Lannisters.

These are Fireforge Teutons (went for the fur cloaks) with Gripping Beast (and some Frostgrave) heads and shields:

What do you think? The banner pole will get a banner at some point, and I'll fill the units out to work with SAGA.

Hey Ogrob, welcome to the GoT party!  These look mighty fine and looking forward to seeing more.

Like you kitbashing choices and the snow bases!

Hope we can help you keep this project going.  May I add this thread to our GoT compendium stickied above?

Yes, welcome to the GoT madness! And very nice work! Good colors, I like how the shields came out especially.

Thanks everyone. Working on some northern knights now to add to the force, and then on to the first batch of Lannisters.

Cheers! I feel they look better in real life then in the photo. Considered going back and adding highlights, but also thought that the northmen themselves are probably pretty crappy painters.

Ha ! I use the same reasoning - "As if the Greyjoys highlight. pfff".

Almost done assembling. Torches, door, gates and other bits will be stuck on before I paint. It is truly a behemoth.

Wow, Ogrob!  Your house words must be "Go Big or Go Home".

Seriously impressed and eager to see it painted!
