who knows anything about the catholic corps that fought for the austrians against the turks?

Only thing I could find is that it was send by William III and that it was wiped out.

It must have been recruited out of irish/scots/english soldiers. I can't find anything about the strength, the uniforms or where they fought.

Sample from Osprey book

https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=fJlzoC_RdhEC&pg=PA7&lpg=PA7&dq=catholic+corps+austria&source=bl&ots=3BSx_0Eegi&sig=CWLAoco2PBt2C3CD7PCNq7QhkIc&hl=en&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwjQ46zeyujMAhVGLMAKHePJDhcQ6AEILjAD#v=onepage&q=catholic%20corps%20austria&f=false

wiki says...

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Flight_of_the_Wild_Geese#Austrian_service

Suggests recruitment related to Catholic, especially Irish Catholics who could not enlist in William's armies anymore, went looking for military service and pay elsewhere including Austria.

so rather than recruiting them, William seems to have drove them to seek alternative employment abroad.

Not had time to dig further but maybe that helps?
