This One Is Dodges Fault - Yellow Melnibonean
« on: January 14, 2009, 05:14:53 PM »
I found this guy yesterday and immediately thought of Dodges threads. The slot tab was missing and its not actually a full casting so I was never going to be able to sell it. I'm still waiting for the postman to bring my new Tang Chinese so I thought I would have a go at the yellow colour scheme. First fantasy mini I have done since the LPL and I quite enjoyed it. And Dodge I just like blaming people - ask Malamute/Thunderchicken/JollyBob et all. If hes any use to you you can have him.

Wow he looks good, how did you find yellow to paint, its come out well

I found it a real pain.

If you don't want him I'll have him, and give him a good home  ;D

i don't mind it being my fault ,what we want is loads of young kingdoms stuff done by everyone  :D

But don't ask to see anything based on Hawkmoon  o_o those Granbrettans are beyond me.

Oh, that's nice!  :-*

Why is he not a full casting Svennn? I can't see how he's any different from the one I have from the pictures.  ???

Funny you should mention Hawkmoon. Pete Taylor and myself have planned doing the beast legions for at least the last 25 years. We have more scratch greens/scratched heads on existing bodies and minis we felt suitable than you can shake a stick at. Even just before x-mas we were talking of having another go but as we now live 100 miles apart projects always seem to stall. The other BIG one is the factions from the Eddings books, I'm amazed nobody ever did a licensed range actually.

JB - if you look closely the wings on the left of the dragon helm are miscast short and part of the skirt at the rear has gone. This was probably where I had him sitting on a beast of some kind at some point?

Thanks for the comments.

Ah, right, gotcha. I thought the thing with the helmet wing was just a foreshortening effect on the photo. Never even noticed the missing part of the skirt.  ::)

You know, if someone were to make some decent Gran Bretanian beast legions, I could probably find a body part I don't need...

(Has anyone read the last Elric book yet? He goes to the Hawkmoon universe! Well, a Hawkmoon universe, at any rate...)

looks awesome. Yellow is a great choice for the armour and shield.
And its a beautiful miniature too. I also have it somewhere beneath the lead mountain.
