Scale of Antares minis.
« on: June 03, 2016, 09:02:12 AM »
Hi. I was wondering if anyone here knew if the Antares minis were size comparable to warlords other stuff, the BA minis specifically? Thanks in advance.

Roughly speaking they're the same size for the more human like races. I don't think you would notice on a table top.

Judgedoug posted this over on the Dakka forums:

I would note that the Algoryn race (pictured in the centre) are a bit bigger than more regular-looking humans (they are supposed to be a big burly warrior race). :)

I don't have a picture but the Algoryn are big, the regular human figures (concord) are your standard 28mm so match up perfectly with the crooked dice and shadowforge figures I have. Hope this helps.

Here's a Ghar battlesuit if anyone is interested:

I think they are a little smaller than a lot of people think :)

(they are lovely miniatures though  :-* )

I actually saw a Ghar battlesuit in person at our local con, and was surprised about how small it really is. More Terminator (Space Marines) scale than Dreadnaught. Still. cool looking suit.

Can't say about Warlord's other stuff but BtGoA plastic Concord are about a head taller than "true 28mm" miniatures (represented here most obviously by the Afterlife mini) and about the size of "heroic 28mm" (that is what Judge Dredd minis are supposed to be AFAIK, tho maybe they are more at "heroic 30mm" really):

The forward-leaning posture makes the height difference less noticeable in the pix. All the same, they aren't quite so overlarge as I initially feared they would be.
