Why hoarding is good

The next time you're asked why you keep hoarding stuff - point them to the BBC - Rare Dinky toy collection fetches £150k at Devon auction  :o

I'm still considering being buried with some of mine - give me something to do in the afterlife ;D

Hoarding (mostly toy bits, junk parts and model kits) is great for when I get down to making terrain.

Not so great for the space it takes up...

Or the look from the wife when you turn up with something else you rescued from the bin at work.

Every once in a while, that look is offset by the one you get when you can say:

"Look what that crap from the bin became!"

Or, even better,

"Look how much I shifted that piece of terrain for on Bring & Buy/eBay/whatever."

Of course, that last one only works if you don't immediately turn around and spend re-invest that money back into the hobby...

Good Points.

My wife is genuinely impressed by the terrain I build from castoff-toys, but it never seems to outweigh her chagrin/annoyance/resignation at the amount of space the bins of raw materials seem to take up on the porch. Can't say I blame her, but it's a healthy obsession as obsessions go.
