You know that inward groan you have to keep in when a non wargaming mate says "you paint toy soldiers, could you do a couple for me?" and all you manage is a very polite "of course".

The true sinking feeling doesn't hit until they bring them round and you get to see the task in all its glory

to be continued.........

You're going to need to sculpt a very grassy base if you are to have any chance, any chance at all, of getting those horses to stay upright - especially the one with a missing hoof.  Probably need to use something like Fimo - but much more durable.  Probably need milli-put. (sp)  Again, good luck.

Nope, the only people that know I paint toy soldiers are the people I've played toy soldiers with.

Good luck.  Reminds me of restoration of artefacts from an ancient site.

You have more faith than me lol

I have set my expectations very low and am aiming for a toy look, it would take a far more talented (and patient) man than I to get even a tabletop wargames finish on these. The plastic is so old and brittle it is breaking just by looking at it so your wishes of luck are greatly appreciated.

Wow, you should start an American Pickers type programme!

It's almost beyond belief that they even kept them...
