I love this stuff.

Where did the "is your neighbor a Genestealer Hybrid?" poster come from? lol

The posters are pretty cool. I find myself reading each of them whenever a new set of pics is added to the thread.

Thank-you.

Where did the "is your neighbor a Genestealer Hybrid?" poster come from? lol

IIRC correctly it was from a series of Warhammer Community articles with 40K posters included, but I can't find it now to link - either it's gone, or my Google Fu is failing me.

The posters are pretty cool. I find myself reading each of them whenever a new set of pics is added to the thread.

They're a fun way to add a bit of colour and character to the background, it was surprising just how much my backdrop popped when I added the posters to it.

Meanwhile, I’m revisiting my PDF goons, who started life as a nameless, faceless OPFOR for the Arbitrator to break out when required, but have also found a life as a fallen house militia in the Necromundan underhive.  I’m now adding some reinforcements to bring them up to two full sections and a platoon command squad with various options (including those to field them in Kill Team).  Here are a pair of shotgunners (including a Cpl section 2IC) and a pair of lasgunners.  The figures are the (now old) Cadians with Anvil Industry heads and shotguns.

I like the PDF! It's fun when what starts out as generic side-forces develop a character of their own. Do you have much of a backstory for them?

I like the PDF! It's fun when what starts out as generic side-forces develop a character of their own. Do you have much of a backstory for them?

The original intent was that they have absolutely zero backstory - they are the nameless, faceless goons for the heroic protagonists to test their mettle against (I was playing a fair bit of Inquisitor at the time).  Since then they've also served as a fallen house militia in a Necromunda campaign for a little while, although that was a branch story.  When I did the officer's ogryn bodyguard though, I ended up having to name both to explain the ogryn's presence, but that's the extent of backstory these guys and girls (or whatever the heck they identify as) have.  Even the Colour Sgt below doesn't have a name, just an acknowledgement that they've been around long enough to swipe some 'spare' kit from the QM.  (The officer and ogryn's story is on page 12 of this thread: https://leadadventureforum.com/index.php?topic=91726.msg1636231#msg1636231)

Anyway, on to the new stuff - first up we have a batch of servo-skulls; the immediate impetus for doing them was the need for a vox-skull and medi-skull to accompany my PDF comms operator and team medic.  The vox-skull is scratch built from an old WHFB ‘90s skeleton skull and the medi-skull is converted from a plastic GW piece.  Whilst doing those two, I got a little carried away and converted a gun-skull and threw in another two as is.

Next up is the final (for now) batch of PDF goons, rounding out the specialists I’ll need should I ever dip my toes into 2nd ed Kill Team, and giving me a bolter Sgt option to lead the Lasgun section in Necromunda/Inq28 gaming.  I decided to make the more exotically-armed “Sgt” for Kill Team purposes a Colour Sgt, who’s been around a while and managed to get their hands on some slightly non-standard kit (thus justifying why they have a plasma pistol and power sword).  Also, noting the Kill Team equipment option to give one figure carapace armour, I gave the CSgt subtly different body armour, that could plausibly sort of be carapace if needed.

This now gives me two full 10-goon sections and a command element with assorted specialist options.  In due course I’ll round the platoon out with a 3rd section, but that’s for the future.

At first, people were mildly bemused by Roger the Shrubber's guerrilla rewilding project in Sector 03, but when he started introducing barbed venomgorse thickets to the main thoroughfares it was generally agreed that he was taking things too far.

After the millisaur infestation earlier in the year, I’ve added to my portfolio of perils with a thicket of barbed venomgorse (or maybe grapple weed if required).  This was a flash of inspiration whilst rifling through several boxes of sprues in a bits sale: Tyranid Infestation Nodes with slightly cut down Venomthrope tentacles.  They’ve gone together rather well and I’m quite chuffed with the end result.

Those look fantastic! Really gribbly, and kind of uncomfortable to look at. A case of the sum of parts looking better than the originals.

Love the colour shift to their terminal ends too.

That's an inspired combination, really like the look of those.

Very nice addition. Properly creepy
