Tonight, I primered the figures. They really look good !

So from now, Normandy theatre (and france summer battles) will be using mostly valiant figures, for other western theatres/periods, I will just choose figures I like, but keeping the 1/72 scale.

For eastern front, and Kursk especially, I reactivated my old 15mm project, simply because it's more convinient this way : I already painted all russian infantry I need, and I have a complete german platoon waiting for paint, without forgetting the fact tanks are cheaper in 15mm (thanks to zvezda) wich is an important factor for tanks oriented battle like Kursk, and considering my budget.

Last but not least, the gaming table I have (180x120cm), wich will be better suited for 15mm big armoured battles if needed.

thank you !

Here's some better sample pics :

THis week, I'll make the bases textures, and work a bit on the 15mm eastern figures too. Then, painting   :)

Here's some textured bases :

I still need to complete the infantry. These days I have a lot of work, and I'm tired because of the heat wave here in France south west (I really hate my region, but it's our family house, so...  ) so hobby work progress is very slow.

By the way, I finally decided (and ordered) to make my eastern project in the same scale, finally !  :)

Wait - Eastern front is 15mm or 20-23mm? I'm so confused.

I understand, since I changed my mind a lot  lol

Russian front will be done in 20-23mm, using converted figures from PSC and Revell, and the core army will be made with metal figures from Raventhorpe russian and east europe range. Vehicles and artillery from Raventhorpe, PSC and Zveda (and later I will add some armourfast stuff too, for sure).

Here's the whole "army", ready to paint :

I hope to start painting tommorow, monday at last. I will soon work on the normandy 20mm scenery too. It should be an interesting project since it will be both personal and professional, since it will be my first ready to play molded terrain range creation, instead of working only on commission as usual (so I will be the first client for this new product, in a way : except the fact I will not pay for this  lol)

I just finished to print a new rulebook to test with this force :

Now I've got (in english) Rapidfire, Battlegroup (kursk and Overlord supplements) and NUTS Big Battles, all designed to handle this kind of forces.

In french, I have Guerre Eclair v3 and Section d'assaut. The first one is similar (in size) to Rapidfire, the 2nd one to Battlegroup.

Today I'm afraid no update on modelling part of the project, too much work left.

Let's go for speed painting, here's the result after 4 or 5 hours of work. Goal is to complete this reinforced platoon at the end of the week.

Finally, some progress here :

There's a lot of work remaining, but at least now it's progressing again, I try to paint a bit every night.
