What kind of mat is this?

This is the Kickstarter I obtained it from:

https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/819121569/frontline-gaming-and-tablewartm-megamattm?ref=profile_backed

I think they may have changed the design for subsequent releases.
a mixture of quick parts, sarcastic humour, reserve, and caprice.

A small update this time, just the last three Azande riflemen.

These last three slackers finish off the unit of more progressive semi-uniformed Azande.

I have six more spearmen to finish up, then the Azande group will be done. Then on to pygmies...

I finished up the last six Azande warriors last night.

Joined up with their fellow tribesmen.

I think that's it for the Azande force. I'll have to double check but I believe that's all the Azande figures in the Foundry Victoriana catalogue, as well as the musketmen set that Copplestone Castings released. Every year I get one step closer to finishing off the Darkest Africa range :)

Oh, I still have Darkest Africa figures to paint. This was just the end of the Azande pages in the catalogue :)

I still have Pygmies I plan to add to this.

Then on to Baluchis, generic tribal warriors, tribal warrior women, all the generic weird hair/braided hair/etc. variants too.

After that... Copplestone Ngoni, Watuta, Germans, and Somalis. Looking like a couple more years ;)

Sad thing is I had them all painted once and sold them off before I set my goal of collecting the range :(

This is great, I am just trying to build up some impetus painting indigenous Africans of different kinds (mainly Zulu for now) for IHMN and Congo, and seeing all this eye candy is very inspiring!

I also need to start making some jungle terrain somewhen during this winter, and, again, your stuff is a fine source for inspiration.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

Your work is definitely a great inspiration Matt! Problem usually is it also inspires more purchases.  :D

Ah, very good news then  :D. Your loss in selling off these gems is our gain as we get to see them (with superlative backgrounds) as they come off your painting table  lol

Matt, you are amazing. Truly one of my favorite painters on this board! I am resisting your lure to follow you into this period. I did pick up the Congo rules earlier this summer, but have so far fought the urge to buy more stuff for it...

You, sir, are not helping!  lol lol lol
