Victim for Instanbul Constabulary?
« on: January 27, 2009, 05:25:13 AM »
Hi All,

I'm currently painting the Pulp Figures, Istanbul Constabulary.  My hope is to enter them in the next Lead Painters League (please, please, please let there be a next Lead Painters League).  Entries, however, require five figures and the set has only four.  Furthermore, the set is GLARINGLY missing a victim.  I've been casting about for a suitable victim figure.  The most obvious choice is something from Pulp's own Cringing Captives set:

But really, I don't see any of these dames getting roughed up in an Istanbul police station.  An interesting alternative is to convert one of the standing figures from this Armorcast set:

I had also thought about picking up a casualty figure somewhere, although nothing in particular comes to mind.  So here's where I call upon the resources of the LAF.  Anyone have a suggestion for a suitable fifth miniature for this scene; the dark interior, the flickering lamp on the table, the shadowy police agent who brought in the victim, the chief, smoking his hookah, the two goons, in the process of reducing to a pulp the victim, and...the victim.  Who is to be the victim?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Try Brigade's Perils and Predicaments line, especially the victims in chairs.

I think either of the two Pulp ladies bound to posts would do , but I'd convert them so they'd be tied to metal rings on a cell wall.

How about the tied up and kneeling chappie from Copplestone's (BC14) Chinese Executioners Pack?

Ground Zero also do some hostages. I think Brigade's Perils and Predicaments fit the bill best, though....
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

I'd be tempted to use the (not) Joel cairo and/or (not) Caspar Gutman figures from Pulp's Sinister Spies pack. Gutman looks appropriately defiant (after all, he's not going to spill his guts now after fifteen years of searching for the dingus!). Cairo needs to lose the pistol, but that should be easy enough.

I'd completely forgotten about these minis (having never really thought much of them anyway).  In fact, I had been wondering if I could sculpt a mini tied to a chair.  Now I don't have to.  Thanks.

While the chaired ones are probably the ticket, for a little pulp comedy, I can't help but be tempted by the woman on the right, below:
