As already mentioned in another thread I wanted to try the  stamps for texturing walls from MiniWorlds, a italian company, and a template for roman doors and windows. The two wall texturing stamps are only two examples there are many more on their web page.

This is what you can achieve in only a few minutes:

The front of the stones is way too straight, so there's no improvement whatsoever to the good old fashioned scratching with a pencil into styrofoam. Other than time savings, of course. I don't get it, why not make good use of the stamping process and really put some depth and relief into it?  :?

This was just a test without further freehand improvement. I think the same as you do but if this type of design would be in the stamp wouldn't it be to regular then to look natural . Considering the time you save by using the template you can put a bit of irregularity into the stones with no effort. Haven't done that here as I wanted to know how the stamps work.

That looks like a really helpfull tool. You can roughen up the stones by hitting them with a rough uneven stone you pick up from the garden/street.

Interesting.  Both stamps and stencils.  Now to find a way to order it without my wife finding out.  :D
