Hello!

Two year ago I buy my first blister to build a little Spanish Tercio in 15mm. After many time gaps...I've finished it!. There are 72 pikeman + 16 arquebusiers, from Venexia miniatures.

This miniatures really aren't a Tercio!, are a Coronelia: spanish unit in XVI century. Altought, the miniature can serve like early Tercio.

What is your opinion?

The pikes are too massive for my liking (often a problem with 15mm stuff, IMHO), but the painting is absolutely marvellous. That red and yellow combination is patently striking.

As Chris said: really striking! I've no idea how you managed to paint the checkered pants.

Any specific system you've build this unit for? Some guys over here have adapted the Crusader rules set, with impressive results. You can take a look here: LINK
However I'm a bit confused: I may be wrong, but those men with levelled pikes look a bit early for the 17th century (sallets?) as do some of the musketeers/harquebusiers. Are they meant to be present in the same unit?

Anyway, I'd like to see more of your stuff. Real inspirational.

Love the assorted polearms.

Given the small scale, the painting is a triumph. Really very beautifully done.

. Certainly when I painted this, I didn't expect to play with him!, I painted him by collecting (although...I wish play with him!).

You are right!. This miniatures are from Italian wars, are a Coronelia (1494-1559). When I bought these miniatures I didnt know Testudo miniatures

(s. XVII miniatures, with morrion helmet

Truly fantastic work. If you had not stated the scale I would have thought they were 25mm figures based on the paint jobs.

My experience is that there is very little difference between 10mm and 15mm in terms of detail, painting time, and impact on the table. I tried 10mm and gave up. A few years later I have begun a 6mm project and am loving it. You lose some of the detail, but you gain the spectacle of a true mass of tiny lead troops!
