Very much enjoyed your blog and the Trondheim Campaign sections in particular. Really liked your ideas and presentation and found everything inspiring.

This looked fantastic and the scenarios looked a lot of fun.
Was this based on a real war? Sorry for my ignorance, I didn't realise there was anything in the time between Romans and Napoleonics...
I am going to build a wargames army, a big beautiful wargames army, and Mexico is going to pay for it.

Well, it is indeed a real war these scenarios are based on. The Trondheim campaign is most often refered to as "The Carolean Death March" or "The Armfeldt Death March". It took place in the end phases of the Great Northen War 1699-1721. In short it was failed Swedish attempt to capture the city of Trondheim during autumn and winter of 1718. The campaign had very few(if any) set battles, but a number of small skirmishers, which is ideal for a big skirmish wargame like this. There are number of rather intersting troops types involved, like ski troopers, snow sled artillery and weird militias.

And I thought the Swedes were such a peaceful people....
