Carcasses Needed
« on: 18 September 2016, 05:51:23 AM »
Are there any 28mm herbivore carcasses available out there, please?

Savanna/Veldt animals, but also horses and cattle, and other livestock would be handy for what I have in mind.

Conversion is, of course, a possiblity, but I would prefer ready-made models.
Ask at the LAF, and answer shall thy be given!

These won't be much help for African animals, but Warlord Games has these dead cows and horses:

They are fine, thanks! Livestock is definitely on the list!

Hadn't noticed those before.  :)

Perhaps some of those cheap plastic animals in close scale/size could be heated slowly on a hot plate or old pan until it flattens on one side to become a carcass. Even if it warps or distorts a little it can still be worked with.

Yes, it may be necessary to resort to that kind of mini-butchery.  lol

In the past I have used the ones that were already a little warped or miss-shaped.

Wouldn't the old warhammer skeleton horses work as carcasses?

you get it.  ;)

i use them as carcasses.
If you need details, add some putty on them to figure some peace of remaining skin and meat ....One vulture on them and you fit the job.

Cheers

Yeah, well, I am not much of a modeller/converter.

As I have recently killed specimens in mind, I'd probably go the 'butcher a mini'-route before sculpting stuff on a skeleton horse, but for older remnants, it is of course a viable MO.
