Painting fallschirmjaeger for Crete 1941
« on: October 17, 2016, 09:31:22 PM »
I'm thinking of doing a small Crete 1941 project next year and have painted up a handful of fallschirmjaeger as samples.  Any opinions please on the colours I have used?  (I know we have a few experts on here!)  The painting is a straightforward basecoat/ wash/ highlight, so I'm not looking for tips that involve 6 layers of highlighting or non-metallic metals, but would be keen to hear if there's any colours I've used that are a no-no before I commit to painting 40 figures.

Thanks!

I thought you weren't going to do Crete next...

They do look lovely though.

I'm not going to do it next, just next year (maybe)...

Anyway, are the bootlaces the right colour, Tom?   ;D

I thought the blue Luftwaffe pants were not used until later, 44ish.

i, too, was quite sure they were not used in the first years of the war ...
Dans les situations critiques, quand on parle avec un calibre bien en pogne, personne ne conteste plus. Y'a des statistiques là-dessus.

Thanks, so it sounds like blue trousers are out then. Do you think the other colours are ok?

For me the bonesacks too light on the first 3 but the one on the right is spot on. Like all the helmet colours.
