A diorama I made using Prodos' AVP Marines and Aliens

The APC is from Cinemachines.

I like it a lot! You put up a great scene that tells a story - and that´s what one of the points is that a diorama does. I also like the muzzle flames on the smart gun. You certainly did invest a little brain power in that.

All I would say is, make sure the camera is in focus before pressing the shutter button.
I presume it's a digital camera, so there's no expense in having film developed. If it's out of focus then delete it and take another!
Like the red-light effect though.
...
I think the diorama is a bit 'empty'. There's no reason why it should be packed full of minis, but given the subject matter (hordes of aliens descending on a few beleagured marines) it doesn't look quite that desperate. So either make it tighter or fill some of that empty space up to help it pop.
Still great work gone into it.

I would say there's more an issue with the short depth of field; I thought the soft focus atmospheric.
...
We'll also have to agree to disagree on the numbers; one more than expected is plenty desparate.  ;)

Certainly don't wish to hold you back from 'sacrifice', but I think I saw an acrylic box about that large in a Dollar Tree, a real dollar store, as in everything for a dollar.

The compostion is good, the placing of the figs in relation to the apc works.
What you're missing is weathering.
Look at what dwartist cooks up on this board, or have a look at the good admiral Bendyblower's Madmaxesque racer on the post apoc board for inspiration.
