Next big thing in gaming?
« on: December 22, 2016, 07:48:25 AM »
A new museum in Gettysburg deploys thousands of handmade cat figurines in carefully researched battle scenes in the hope of sparking kids' interest in the Civil War.

The cats being faceless only makes it worse.

But I would say the chances they will go home, and 8 year old Bobby-Sue and Chuck junior will turn to mom and pop and say, 'gee, you know, seeing all those kittens in the museum kind of made us think - d'ya think you could tell us how the confederate states fought to leave the union and what effects this had on society?' is pretty minimal.

The chances of that happening are minimal. Then again, the chances of "My favourite thing in the museum was the thing with the cats but what was that all about, why were the cats fighting?" happening are far better.

I can only think about how different that could have been with Perry Miniatures instead of felines...

Reminds me of the stuffed cat dioramas that the Victorians liked so much.
