Painting 6mm forces for Cold War Games
« on: January 05, 2017, 03:54:50 PM »
A buddy loaned me his copy of the Team Yankee novel and it peaked my interest.  I picked up a couple of rule sets (Team Yankee, Cold War Commander, and Fist Full of TOWs 3) and decided I was going to use 6mm models to play some games.

My first models are Russian T-55 tanks from GHQ.  These are very nice models and they painted up very quickly to a decent table-top standard.

I will be showing off some of my US forces shortly and will be adding more models to the collection over time.

You can watch my video that shows how I paint these models here.

I've finished a small group of US tanks.  Now I have forces to actually play a game, though it will have to be a small game.

I went with a simple paint job that goes on quickly, but I am pleased with the results.

Looking good. It's amazing how quickly they paint up, right (helped in part by GHQ's awesome detail)? I imagined your music choice to be a classical version of the Rocky theme.

They do paint quite quickly.  The detail is amazing.  I was surprised by it actually.

I laughed out loud when I read your comment on the music.

Thanks for the kind words.

GHQ does have the finest minis - in any scale. I've held original sculls lol models and am blown away by what they do. Stunning.

Edit: oariginal contained boating reference.

They sculpt the oars for the lifeboats on the 1/2400 WWII ships? Crazy.
