Aren't there some winged fliers from the Flash Gordon range? I saw them recently, but don't remember who manufactured them.

Yeah, that's right. Is Roger back up in business, or is he finished for good?

Ah, almost finished building. Just needs rivets...lots and lots of them.

Here we have a full length view, with the gorgeous Philomena giving us a sense of scale.

This view explains how the flyer will be launching themselves into the ether, and also why you do not want to be in front of that gun. The gun is a repositioned mortar off the Games Workshop Griffon tank. The white doors I plan on riveting, of course, and once I find the rod, I will place rods at the bottom to be the hinge.

Here Philomena gives us a closer view of the inside of the superstructure. I adore the bits I got from Reviresco. I find the sailors disappointing, but the guns and bits are topnotch.

And finally, the rear of the ship, with requisite smokestack, random bits to kind of indicate steamtech, and the mounted rear firing turrets, scrounged off a broken GW Leman Russ.

Next step, rivets.

WOW :o
This is going to be some fleet.
Have you come up with something to land on it yet?

I am experimenting with casting the wings off of the Birdmen from GW - I traded for one, and am trying to dupe them, seeing as GW doesn't sell the bits anymore, but I am not certain I care for that style, nor can I decide what the troops need to look like. I *know* that they need to be heavily clothed, because they are not going to have radiant heaters like the crew of the Mjollnir or Gungnir. I haven't found ones I like yet that will match up to the Brigade Models Belgians I decided to use for Norwegians.

Update-o-rama! 4 hours and 700 pins later.

The Gungnir, ready to paint...with guns.

Here we have the starboard side of the back portion, with little bits and pieces added here and there.

Here is a look into the superstructure.

A good look at the port side, with my scratchbuilt door from bits.

And a view of the front of the command structure. Though it can't be seen very well right now, being all white like the walls around it, the center of the middle layer has a door, that is designed to swing up - I figure this will give the troops coming out some cover from higher up attacks. The gatling in the corner is scratched together from bits - I am actually rather proud of getting it together.

I am quite pleased actually - there is not the insane amount of detail someone like Mancha - yeah, I'm looking at you, you scratchbuilding nutbar (even if I do love your work) - but I see these as mobile terrain - and if they are too detailed, to me, it draws away from the models instead of complimenting them. Maybe that is just me. Now, to painting this and Mjolnir, and getting my soldiers painted up...and finishing my pirates, oh and doing some more groups for the contest, and finishing my Lord of the Rings models, and maybe get back to painting my Tau for 40k...

Damn, I am pathetic.

Very cool!  :-*
Well done and with quite enough amount of detailing for my taste
Although the Adeptus Mechanicus will turn you into a servitor for abusing such an amount of Imperial Tanks  ;)

Looks like a vehicle ramp on the side of the command bridge, yes?  Now you've got me expecting to see some cool pulp device stationed there.  Expectation are high.

Pretty ballsy statement considered how many grey GW bitz I see all over the place.   ;)
