Elf Warband for Dragon Rampant
« on: January 08, 2017, 12:00:36 PM »
Hi,

Second post for my second project for 2017: Elven Wars.

As a fan of Warhammer Elf range, I'll use it to play Dragon Rampant. So you will see some High Elves against Dark Elves in this topic.

Again my first work is mostly re-based miniatures on round base.

I begin to show you my skirmishers:

I hope you will enjoy this topic.

Very nicely painted! I like the yellow mixed in with the usual High Elf blue. Different and works well.

Very cool, looking forward to seeing more.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Nice original paint scheme. I doff my cap to anyone who can paint yellow as well as that!
Adventures? Nasty disturbing uncomfortable things! Make you late for dinner!

Hi there,

Thanks a lot for yours comments.

Yes there is certainly a Iyanden inspiration in my work. For the story, i was searching a colour to substitute white.
And I found that yellow work well. It's only after painting that I thought about Iyanden.

So what new this week? The first four bowmen and 2 wip skirmishers.

I really like how the skirmishers turned. Really easy to do some kit bashing with. I used some pieces from Empire Free Company's sprue.

I'm looking for a good eagle to go with my skirmishers, a small one. So if you know some references, tell me ^^.

Enjoy...

Are you using a wash for the shading on the yellow, or is it a slightly darker yellow painted in before or after the main colour?

Works really well!  :)

Hi there,

thanks for yours comments!!

So what's happened during this month in my cabinet? Many things.....

I let you see:

Another batch of 4 bowmen:

All together:

My first hero, a female mage, a simple one certainly an apprentice:

And some test on spearmen:

And i built my second unit of bowmen:

Some nice result indeed ^^.

For answer to your question Argonor, my recipe for yellow is really simple: mat yellow PA, devlan mud, mat yellow, lining light yellow PA.

Thanks. I may be a bit thick, here, but what does PA stand for, please?
