Keeping Warhammer alive :-)
« on: 08 January 2017, 07:56:02 PM »
Happy New Year!

My friend and me will go back to the point when Warhammer had it´s best times with the release of the 6th Edition in September 2000.

More about this project on my blog:

Good to hear you've got big plans.

Love the elves, they look lovely and crisp. I'm a huge fan of the seaguard miniatures well.

Awesome High Elves! I collected the same back in the day, and still think those 4th and 5th edition metal sculpts are fantastic. The sea guard were some of the best. You've done them justice with that really nice gold armour.

And I LOVE those two command models too! I never had those particular ones, always thought they looked great.

Brilliant painting! I also adore the sculpts. They were some of the best GW ever made.

Ooh! 6th edition marks the golden era of my happy childhood warhammer memories!

I'll be following this with interest. Also, nice minis.

Don't.
Let the wretched game die.
It was starting to show its age in the late 80s. It's now just a bloated fat corpse floating down the river.
Awkward, wobbly, out-of-date rules mechanisms. Move forward. There are loads of other games out there that you can use those lovely models with.

It was showing its age five years after it was released?

I agree on better games though - have you seen Dragon Rampant? Most of your Warhammer bang but in half the time.

Thank you all for your comments. That will motivate me to go on.

I know that Warhammer is not everyones cup of tea. And I also know that there are lots of other great fantasy tabletops out there. I play myself God of Battles (awesome game) and Dragon Rampant.

Though my regular gaming mate and me always loved to play Warhammer together. And that is simply all about it. Having a great time togehter and playing a game we both like, nothing more and nothing less.

And if we will get bored of it we still can use our miniatures for other games :-)

This thread wasn't meant to discuss the strenght and weaknesses of the game of our choice. I'm sure there are other threads that have this as topic.

Thanks again.
