Another sculpt by Steve Barber for his Europe in Revolution range, this will come under the heading Italian States 1848-1849.
The sculpt represents a Piemontese Infantryman in early uniform, just the rear pocket flaps to finish.

Looking good. Nice clean sculpt.
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Do you know if the sculptor is going to realise some models for the siege of Venezia in 1849?
IIRC there was a mix of Piedmont, Neapolitan,Ponticifial and Austrian deserters plus. Volunteers and Civic guards. I'm totally ignorant where to find models for that War in 28mm

These are really nice and it's very tempting to jump into this period.

There should be a Bersaglieri green shortly and I am just in the process of commissioning a Sardinian Guard and a couple of Pietmontese artillery crew. I am currently liaising with two fellow enthusiasts about jointly commissioning some Papal volunteers, so yes the siege of Venice is on the cards, in addtion The siege of Rome is under discussion. ANYONE can join us in the project!

What a temptation.
Do you have a website Or something? I rule a blog and since I'm Italian would be happy to offer some space to this project on it.

BTW did you considered Mirliton? They have some miniatures for Italian Indipendence Wars, the quality it's not excellent, but except some miniatures it's a passable range.

The figures are by Steve Barber Models, they are currently not listed as he is still getting moulds made, they will ultimately be listed under The Europe In Revolution Range. The range is a commission range. To give you an idea how they look painted up, here is The Pietmontese Infantryman nearing completion

Yes, nice figs limited to what I can use for 48/49 as they are designed for 1859, but have a load of their Sardinian Guard and Regina infantry
