They look great. Love the Cromwell

I'm feeling in need of a Matilda for my burgeoning Western Desert collection. Sadly Rubicon don't make one, or that'd be my first choice.
There's the Blitzkrieg resin model - which looks very good, but my experience with Blitzkrieg is that the actual product is not quite as good as the pictures, especially in terms of casting around the mould line - and the Matilda was one of their first models, so I'm figuring the mould will be worn as well.

Warlord appear to offer more than one, in resin and plastic versions.

Any recommendation?  :)

I have the Warlord  BEF Matilda (high heels and bustle) so not suitable for the desert. There was some filling along the join between the track units and the nose, it was rather complicated because of the detail and the closed nature of the corners.

They do a desert version but I do not possess one.

There was some discussion about a plastic kit at the toy show, but it is thought it was the 1/72 scale kit squatting on the 1/56 scale display.

Having set the way back machine to http://ultravanillasmurf.blogspot.co.uk/2012/12/matilda-in-high-heels.html

"There were a few minor problems with the build, the tracks had some slight misalignment where the mould came together, the resin needing to be filed down to flatten the tread (you can see the results below), there is a prominent seam under the nose which I have still failed to correct and the tread unit to body join needed filling (the most difficult part being the sides where there is a prominent row of rivets adjacent to the join, meaning I could not file down the join without having to add the rivets again)."

Okay, thank you  :)

Looks like it'll have to be the Blitzkrieg one after all...

Inspired by the lovely 15mm PSC Panzer 38(t) elsewhere on the forum, I got round to assembling and painting a Zvezda one.

As I used the Rubicon decals on both the 28mm and 15mm scale models, here is a comparison shot.

Perry Miniatures Kubelwagen

It was at this point I noticed I had not washed the wheel hub.

Decals are from the Rubicon SDKFZ250/253 kit (so the registration is definitely wrong).

The Perry Miniatures vehicle is notably smaller than the Warlord Games one.

Empress Miniatures Carden Loyd MMG carrier.

I added extra ammunition boxes (from the Rubicon Allied stowage set) and a tripod from the Rubicon SDKFZ 250/253 kit (I built the enclosed SDKFZ 253 so there was plenty of bits left over).

The Carden Loyd carrier is tiny, it is dwarfed by the FT.

Nice work UVS.
The Warlord Kubel actually looks rather good. I have the Perry one. I guess because it's scaled for the Perry 'true 1/56' figures, it's a bit more diminutive than the Warlord model which is nominally 1/56 scale, but will be designed to work with their more regular sized 28mm figures...

I like the Carden-Loyd carrier. Might have to add one of those curiosities to my 8th Army force...  :)

Thanks.

The Warlord Kubelwagen is nice(the separate wheels are better), I just have not got round to finishing it, and the Perry one will fit better with their Afrika Korps figures.

The Carden Loyd from Empress is remarkably similar to the Warlord one (but cheaper).

The Warlord one looks well off in terms of its dimensions. In 1/56 Company B make a couple of  Matildas but again it doesn't look quite right. Personally, I went with the Tamiya 1/48 version. As they will be the only tanks on the table, it makes no difference and I find they seem to fit well wit my Eureka Australians. I know you have included ne or two 1/48 kits in your collection so you  may wish to consider the Tamiya Matilda.

Very nice work  btw UVS!
