I am not too familiar with the characters (although I have seen both of the films ages ago) but I can admire the work you have done on those figures.
Top drawer, mate.

Thanks chaps.

I'm being a bit anal with this project (and have since changed Ace's face as he needed bigger cheekbones).

I managed to track down a copy of the Platoon board game, which is quite inspirational.

Currently working on Barnes and Rodriguez (another short character). The first stage of the plan is to complete 19 members of the Platoon to play against the FMJ sniper.
My LAF Gallery is HERE
Minis (foot & mounted) finished in 2025 = 74
(2024 = 38; 2023 = 151; 2022 = 204; 2021 = 123; 2020 = ???)

Very cool!
Sadly I can not see the early photos from Feb12th back.

I was thinking of doing some thing similar for Indo-china French actions. But with an Idealistic French men vs a fictionally formal SS grunt who is now in the FFL playing the part of Barns.  :D

Long in the future of course.
"Peace" is that brief, glorious moment in history when everybody stands around reloading.

Thanks folks  :)

That's an interesting project Commissar - sounds like something that might have been written by Leo Kessler  ;)  :D

Regarding the old images, I'm afraid they're no longer in the LAF gallery as I want more control over them, an unfortunate consequence of which is the empty boxes. However,  my old images are still available at my PLog.

In case anyone is interested, here's a link to the NAM68 pages:

Some very useful information on the terrain page of your Plog, mate.
It will be extremely handy when I get around to making my own 'jungle' stuff.

I have never heard of Leo Kessler, but I have heard of similar disputed accounts of Former SS escaping punishment by hiding out with the Legion.
I thought I would toss together a Pulp ally game with that as the base. Not all missions are to kill the some thing, some times its to out fox them and get better support morel or military for the fight missions.
Like a few night on the town missions, or trying to elude or work with CIA/OSS or what every the hell security agency would help or hinder them.
Trying to get/stop paper work going though that will provide them with tanks, air support or reinforcements in the next op.  :D

Leo Kessler was the alias of a British author who wrote 'violence and sex' WW2 novels in the 1970s. Similar in style to the better-known Sven Hassel. IIRC one story featured an SS sergeant who joined the FFL and served in Algeria.

Must admit I'm enjoying the movie links of this project; it certainly helps with the focus and motivation.

Oh and cheers Paul (and the jungle is still all your fault!  ;))

Thanks Tom

 :)

I won't put them all up here* as that'd get boring but Barnes deserves a showing so here he is (pre final polish and tweaks, which is why I take the photos ;-))

*Though I am adding them to the relevant PLog page as I work my way along

These guys are great, I noticed in an earlier post a list of weapons for each character, whilst it's been awhile since I last saw the film, I think both Barnes & Elias were carrying the CAR-15 short carbine version of the M-16. Could be wrong, probably am, but pretty sure somebody had one! Either way what an awesome project, the green stuff web gear is particularly well done, almost be a shame to hide all the skill with paint!

Ash is correct - Barnes and Elias both had a CAR-15, not the full length M16.

These look great!
