Fistful of Lead: Horse & Musket for FIW
« on: 03 February 2017, 12:57:08 PM »
Has anyone used the Fistful of Lead: Horse & Musket rules for French and Indian war?
Want to put on a game at a show and thought these would be simple to pick up and use for punters.

Hey Black Burt,

Affirmative. Some of the early play-tests featured the F&IW, and I helped the author "launch" the new rules at Recruits last year with a F&IW scenario. Definitely "punter-approved"  ;)

Like Cluck said, we ran FIW games and it worked great. 6 players running 5 models apiece. Perfect for that low level frontier fighting.
The first scenario in the rule book is for FIW but really, any of them can be adapted.
I'm working on a Scenario Book specifically for FIW now, with input from Cluck Amok.
PM me if you have specific questions.

Coo, you do take terrain to impressive heights of detail. :)
The laws of probability do not apply to my dice in wargames or to my finesses in bridge.

Thanks for the reply ClucK Amok and BaronVonJ, one of my gaming friends has purchased the rules now so I will have a few trial runs.
My gaming terrain is not as impressive as that in those pictures, it looks great, I think it is on a bigger scale than 28mm so you can get much more detail in.

I think a lot of the terrain making principles Cluck used on his terrain would work just as well for 28mm, if not better.
His website is treasure trove for gaming in the woods.
