My buddies and I played our first game of Ga Pa last weekend.  We are really enjoying it so far.  Love the paint jobs on your blog.

Thanks gents I appreciate it.

I had been told that GA PA was a little complicated, how do you find it?

Ga Pa is written by a someone for whom English is not their first language so you might have to read certain sections of the rules a couple of times to come to grips with it.  That said, the second edition is leaps and bounds better than the first edition IMHO.  The way melee is resolved is somewhat counter-intuitive (you are rolling for what happens to you and not what you do to your opponent), but once you get used to it, it works well.  The command and control rules really set this game apart and makes it one of my favorite rules sets so far.  I really like the way it gets harder and harder to maintain command and control as the battle progresses.

Also the rules don't come with a QRS.  You can find one looking around on the internet.  All the measurements are in paces (ala WRG) and it is helpful to modify the QRS and change the measurements from paces to metric or inches (whichever you prefer) so you don't have to do that calculation in your head all the time.

Thanks for that, I am trialling Black Powder but will keep GAPA in mind.
