Saw this on Wargames Soldiers and Strategy 'picture dump' of Adepticon 2014:

Does anyone know who/what/where?!? Have this 'itch in me brain' about the 'nid big thingy, but I can't figure it out!

Any Martian prince would be proud!

I think it could be used better, here. Rather like the Parrotmen of Venus, don't you know.

It has been suggested to me that I most humbly submit my meagre offerings to this august sticky.

A quick WIP report of my balsa versions of Space 1889 cloudships/screw galleys.

I never said such a thing!

As the Scot, on seeing his first game of baseball, and totally being bemused at the batter, after four times swinging without a hit, still went to base, having been told it was because 'he walked because he had four balls...', said:

'Walk with pride, man!'

Okay, rather than my usual modus operandi, I actually am posting a bit of my own creation.

Seriously bad phone piccie, but better a friends phone than mine.

Just wanted to show how quick-and-dirty one can be for simple 'nefs, I present the unpainted Cocktail Fork Nef. Only tools: large toenail cutter and 'diamond' file, except for the small hole paper punch for the 'props'.

The piece of fork on the 'floor' was a simple chop and paste that said I could at least give something else a go.

Really fast, and as the forks came from a 'dollar store', one box of 70, one of 75, one can have a massive number of fails and still fly a large swarm for a couple of dollars.

I'm calling this one an 'aerial torpedo boat' with two 'tubes' up front.

I found the flat hull with blunt nose inspiration from some of Brigade Models 'nefs. Which are way better, but these are surprisingly easy.

These are awesome.  I'll definitely be watching for some of these forks the next time I'm at the dollar store.  As an additional material for cutting extra shapes and bits, might I suggest bread tags?  The plastic things that close bread bags.  They, like disposable forks, are made out of styrene so plastic cement can work for building ships out of this stuff.

Thanks, Nathan, but already 'on board' with those.

The post I made in November of '13 finally had tail vanes made from same. I really liked the curls.

Alas, broke off before seeing paint, but I've plenty more.
