Great report. I own both versions of AK47 and want to play but it's always down the list of things to buy toys for and paint...

May I suggest a method which was first used on me when DBA first came on the scene. Cut the bases out (thick card/ MDF whatever you have) Write on the base what they are. Then play. If you like the experience stick figures/ tanks etc onto the bases. You can do this gradually you don't have to do it all at once.

Yeah I may in the end use WW2 figs etc. But it's a victim of too many interesting games to play vs. anything else.

At college we had a scaled down version of DBA/HOTT using a 24cm board and card counters.

It whiled away a number of lunchtimes.
