Hairy old Bloke in a Wagon!
« on: March 08, 2017, 04:02:50 AM »
This is a real "before and after" project. I picked up this miniature secondhand from a bloke on the Forum. It's a classic old D&D type mini, not sure who made it, but I've seen similar ones around. I have given it a Dark Ages treatment, changing the Wizards pointy hat into a phrygian style cap, carving off excess decorative bits, giving him a green-stuff belly, and replacing the staff.

I couldn't find my "Before" picture on this computer, so I may put that up later.

Here's the "After":

Cheers,
John.

Nice work although I think the wagon wheels are a tad futuristic for his look.  :)

Finy work, though that cart looks a bit empty - maybe he is going to the local town to shop? A couple of barrels or sacks would look good at the rear of the cart.

Thanks guys!  :)

I found the "Before" picture:

Anyone know who made this originally?

Wagon was left empty so I can put different loads in as required.

Very, very cool looking mini, good job. :) It's always cool when people go back and redo old paintjobs if they are in need.

Not sure if anyone still has the original in production, but I have seen similar elsewhere:

To my eye, the Midlam Miniatures version is all but identical apart from the driver.
