Spanish 3rd Battalion, Africa Regiment - Talavera

Established in 1559, the Africa were one of the senior regiments of infantry in the Bourbon infantry at the start of the Peninsular War.

The Regiment would be in the thick of the early fighting at Baylen and having a detachment at the Second Siege of Saragossa, before the third battalion suffered the major defeat at Ucles in 1809
