My WSS Project for 2017
« on: March 30, 2017, 04:03:34 AM »
I've started a WSS project this year. I'm doing French mainly because I simply like the look of them. I'm taking my time with getting the figures done and interspersing each regiment with other things (WWII/Sci-fi/etc). I've only done three battalions so far but I'll speed up my output once I've finished off some of the other things.

Anyhow, here are a few pics and there are a bunch more on my blog at: http://this28mmlife.blogspot.com.au/search/label/War%20of%20Spanish%20Succession
Below is a link to my blog. It's the place where I write uninteresting things about little toy soldiers. I do this because I refuse to grow up and behave like an adult.

Looking forward to seeing how this progresses, fantastic start. Lovely painting and Ebor really are super figures. :)

Very nice figs and nice buildings too. Who makes the latter?

That's a nice start  8)

Just to be pedantic about it, the drummers of the Bourbon regiment wore the Bourbon livery of yellow/buff faced red rather than the royal livery of blue faced red.

Thanks for that. It can be easily remedied with these drummers removed & added to the next battalion and some correctly painted chaps moved into their place.  ;)

Yes, it's an easy fix, all the more so as the other three regiments in Montmorency's brigade all had their drummers in the King's livery. Feel free to drop me a PM if you have any questions about some of the uniforms as I've gathered a fair bit of material on the subject over the years.

Just out of curiosity, is the Bourbon regiment officer waving his sword a conversion of yours or was he supplied as is by Ebor ? (he's obviously a variant on one of the existing officers/standard bearers but I don't see the sword-armed version on the Ebor website).

He's not a conversion but I think he may be an artillery officer. I bought the troops as a brigade deal and this figure was the one that just happened to be in the bag.

Also, I'll take up you offer and send you a pm in the next couple of days regarding cavalry. I can't find much info about them and I'm a bit confused.
Cheers

No problem, PM me whenever you feel like it.

I'll have to ask Nick about that officer, as I'd be interested in relieving him of several.

I look forward too following this project and seeing more units as this is a period that I'm starting to have a growing interst in.

Also, love your brush work, I've never been able to get that 'flat' effect right!
