Dry Mud pigment from MIG mixed into my basing sand, that's all. I'm lazy!
looks good, I use Impetus sized bases so it may be a tad too expensive to do ;-)

Do you re-apply the metallics on the armour after varnishing as well?

Not at all! Half a pot of pigments is enough for several tubs of sand!
I use precoloured woodland scenics sand (coarse/ medium/ fine) plus Renedra sand and whatever bits I can find.

Yes, the Matt Varnish dulls it too much so a little drybrush and some Gloss Nuln Oil after!

Yes! Comes in medium and coarse as well. I bought mine in smaller bags tho and mixed it with ordinary sand which is even finer. All into one pot, add pigment and shake it well..voila!  8)
The grass is GF9 winter grass and some tan stuff Cubs has donated years ago..

If we lived near each other we could start a civil war! lol

Great attacking Roman.

Once I finish the praetorians I'll order them.

The two kits complement each other well. Lots of kit-bashing options.

These are absolutley beautiful! the dark gritty style that remains realistic, the basing, the nice deep reds. truly lovely!
