Painting Undead Horses?
« on: 10 April 2017, 04:21:30 PM »
I've got a Reaper sculpt of an undead champion riding a horse to paint. The horse is partially skeletal but still has rotting flesh & skin on its bones. My google-fu has failed me so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions for painting it?

Cheers

How about this?

Or this?

From the sublime to the barely competent: I just went with a generic pallid for my undead rider. No masterpiece, but it was very quick to do:

Have you tried to google Nurgle Horse? I can remember some fitting examples from various painting contests.

For the horse in the sculpt to have a mane and tail its body will still have hair. So you can paint the horse exactly as you would normally and then paint in the visible bones and organs.
Same as a "fresh" human zombie.

Looks fine to me.  He's traditionally supposed to be riding a pale horse, right?  :)
