Congo Temple pics
« on: April 14, 2017, 07:58:10 PM »
Sirs,
Here are a few "posed" photos taken after our latest Congo bash. The scenario was our own design with 3 factions racing for loot and fighting off dark Guardians of the temple.

Thanks. I find Congo a very entertaining game system and recommend it highly. (I should also add the Dark Guardian of the temple mentioned in my OP was not the Ruga Ruga contingent but a much larger creature that met its fate elsewhere on the table.)
I'm currently working on some different pulpy unit stats (cultists, raptorish types, armed White Ape Men) based on my existing figures to expand the game a bit.

Oh wise companion of Sherman the bespectacled, always a delight to explore the jungle with you. Oh, and does the flora look familiar to you?

Yes it does. I think a lot of it was mine at one time. :) Sold thru Peabody. Glad it's getting some use!

Indeed! Gorillacrab was so inspired by your jungle masterpieces that he did his best to duplicate them using your old stash of plastic foliage.

Much appreciated. It's amazing how much fun you can have with some good plastic leafy bits and a glue gun.

Glad it all found a good home!  :D And I agree.... building jungle all unto its own can be a hobby.

Would you be willing to share the stats for the various Pulp units/beasties?

General Mayhem,
I certainly don't mind sharing the "Beta" stats I've devised to get some of my pulpy figures onto the table. I need to stress several things:
1. I hope I'm not violating any rule rights of Studio Tomahawk in doing this
2. these new stats have not been tested for balance
3. also, I have not been able to assign Unit Cost stats for these units
4. Most units aside from the cultists don't offer any Shooting stats (this could be tweaked, ie Raptors could "spit" as in Jurassic Park)
To test drive these Beta Stats, I'd lump them together as a "Lord of the Jungle" faction. When using them, equal the number of units in your opponents column and add 1 or 2.
As I noted, this is a very Beta set of stats based on units I already have. However, most Congo players agree it is a great game system that cries out for some expansion and maybe this will get the ball rolling. I'll be curious to see what kind of ideas and feedback this generates. Enjoy.
