Temple of Hecate, the triple goddess (WIP pics 25/03)
« on: March 22, 2012, 12:13:52 AM »
Hi everyone,

I am currently building an Ancient Greek temple, which I'm really excited about. I've no photos as yet, but what I was after was a statue or figure of Hecate, the triple goddess.

Something like this would be great:

If there is nothing like it available, I might need to make one... but would rather avoid it!

Does anyone have any ideas?

Maybe a long shot but you could use Prieser figures, you know, the railway ones. They come in a multitude of different poses, scales, dress types etc. I've used them before to good effect. They take a bit of conversion work but the plastic they are moulded from is easily workable.

This what I used them in.

I was also thinking of using the Crooked Dice living statues as a basis for conversion... maybe a bit small for the statue itself, but great for an encounter on the steps of the temple. I will have a photo up this weekend.

Having said that, a nice little pendant like the one you posted might be ticket, Alex.

I'll keep searching!

This one comes in a conveniently 4" tall variant, too.

Hi guys, here is a quick snap of the temple in progres. I am getting this ready for display at Conquest (Melbourne) over the Easter long weekend, so not long to go now!

There will be some more pics on my blog, but I'll give you some updates here, too.

They're from a cake shop on ebay. It was difficult to find columns that were in any style other than Corinthian (later era, more details on the capital), and I can't seem to find any trace of them now.

I usually search for "cake columns" on ebay and find loads of them.

Here's a great find: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/15-WILTON-5-White-Plastic-Roman-Greek-Columns-Cake-Decorating-/350551151324?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item519e7a12dc

Might consider bidding on them my self!  lol

Very useful stuff. Let me know if you aren't going to bid on them, then I will try.

No it's okay, you go ahead! :) I have extras at home and won't need these. They are a great deal so I hope you win! Can't wait to see what you do with them.
