Looking good.  We will definitely need some before and after of the googly eyed unit.  :D

Before pics are up now. Time to get some paint slabbed on!

Duregar and I took some pics yesterday, of which some will - probably - be used to advertise our GoB presentation on the Horisont website.

One is here, the rest, as usual, on the blog:

You have to admit they certainly have an intense look about them.  lol   I have stopped painting eyes on my troops as I get that look too often myself.  Nice looking battle you have laid out.

I certainly prefer minis with just shadows in the eye-slits to that look, but the Númenoreans have slightly bulging eyes sculpted on, so it's not really an option, I'm afraid.  :)

Those look like they will easily blend in with your other forces.

Yeah, I think they'll just about do. I'll polish them a bit more, then move on to the next unit I have to bring up to full GoB strength.

Eyes and mold-lines on armour and helmets must wait for another occation (I'll probably remove the latter, then repaint all armour parts).

Very sweet paint jobs! And there is nice motion in those figures.

That's a lot of metal on those, but the different shades of gray and silver give good definition to the pieces.

Keep your armies marching!

Thank you!

I think I shall return to these somewhen, to do a little mold-line killing and repainting of some additional parts (maybe even add eyes  ::) ), but I think I have obtained an acceptable table-top standard for now, and I REALLY need to turn my attention to the next unit, as Horisont VI approaches too fast for comfort.

I am VERY pleased with the way I have managed to paint the bases to blend in with my own standard lazy method - I feared that they would stick out, but after I added flock, the result is quite difficult to discern from the leader and the spearman/standard bearer.

Aaaand... another one done!

More pics on the blog - and I realized that I forgot to paint the rear side of the shield, which will be mended very soon!

Nice painting. I like the look you've gone for.

Thanks - it's a bit more colourful than seen in the films, but I feel that I should create some individuality by varying the colours - after all, Rohan has a warrior culture, nothing like the cultivated uniformly dressed army of Gondor  ;)
