Vorkosigan novels are great. Honor novels, well, the firsts ones are good. Later ones have to many characters and a lot of politics, less action. But the description of space combat is good. The drive technology they use is what makes necesary to put the weapons on the ship sides, and to fight in a "wall" of ships.

One thing I really disliked about full thrust was vector movement. With my insanely Armoured and heavily armed NSL ships, I never lost. It was a matter of applying a bit of thrust in the beginning and then drift along and blast away from a distance.

Guessing you didn't face very many salvo missile or plsma bolt using fleets, both of which eat canon NSL ships like popcorn.

On the original queston's subject, I second the rec for Battlefleet Gothic, which is very much written as a hybrid of Age of Sail and WW1 Dreadnought combat In Space.  That became less true as time went by and more races were added, but the core Imperial and Chaos fleets play out that way.
