Solo rules? OK, well how do you play solo rules anyway? How do you make the decisions for the bad guys? Can you just not play normal rules but with 2 gangs?
Or is it more like you need a really rigid setup, like a chess problem where you have to beat the difficult set up?
In solo games, there is some mechanics to make the opponents decisions. Sometimes it's purely randomness, but best games also include also some kind of "AI" for the opponents, sometimes based on algorythms ("if, if not, then" kind of things). The enemies behaviour follows some (more or less) logic and credible rules.
A good solo game is not just a normal game when you play the 2 sides, or simply randomly choose the opponents actions. In a way, it's more like these gamebooks wich were popular in the 80's - early 90's :
Interesting solo games are based on solid scenario and objectives, some events appears during the game too, to make the game like a story (often organized in chapters, where each game of a campaign is a chapter) we're part of. It's not like a chess problem, but more like a solo light rpg, or some kind of interactive novel/movie with miniatures.
At least it's my own opinion. Maybe some other solo gamers prefer some kind of competitive gaming. But as I said, solo gaming is a tiny niche market inside another niche market, most games don't offer solo rules, so it's not an issue for vast majority (99.99% I think
) of gamers.
Your minis range and game (for what I "diagonal readed" from the rules pdf) is already great
When I' will be less broke than I am now
I will probably order some minis !
