I am absolutely loving this project!

I'm currently reading Flight and Mirror by John Crowley. It's a novel about Hugh O'Neil which includes a smidge of fantasy elements (namely John Dee's magick and the fae, who only show up in glimpses), but I've enjoyed it so far.

Can't wait to see how this project continues to come along!

Cheers guys, painting last of the Irish over the weekend so hopefully start basing those soon. We plan to put a demo game on at Partizan in October.

Nice figures I like the basing on the pike especially - perfect for Ireland.

How do you feel about the Redoubt figures?

I had some Ottomans and frankly they were worn out. I fancy some of their Renaissance figures but I worry I'll end up with more of the same .

Thanks Emir, Redoubt are a mixed bunch and you dont really know what you will get. The bodies of the Irish horse are lovely as are the horses, the heads awful so I had to swap those out. The Irish foot are not very nice. The Targeteers are all really nice though and I have some to do a unit of Spanish Rolero's. I know from experience that the Polish Pancerni are also lovely, as are their horses.

Currently painting some Demi Lancers and these are quite nice generally too, I have used Perry horses from the Wars of the Roses range as not sure about some of the Redoubt ones. I will share these and the Rodolero once complete might be a few weeks. Also no issues with service as had been a problem some years ago. Not sure if that helps particularly?

Thanks Roger, That's enough to warn me off unless I can see them in the flesh. I'll stick to Foundry, some Casting Room, D'Arlo, Perry, Timeline and some some resin figs (Demilancers which I'm painting too). A mix admittedly but I know the quality.

Cheers Metternich, I had seen the first one but not the other two, interesting.

Emir, I think it depends certainly some of them are very nice (Pancerni in particular) others not as you have already seen. Hoka Hey do a Demi Lancer in their Elizabethan Range, whilst I don't like the rest of their figures I do particularly like this one and got a pack of 4 which i mixed in. Like you I am happy to mix when I find figures that work. I have just finished 6 Demi Lancers from Redoubt and they were all quite nice. Pictures here in due course.
