It is funny but when I saw them I thought they were very similar to the Assault group's style/ ranges. Do you know how far back in history this style of armour/ clothing can go? I assume they are wearing padded jacks, but can't seem to find a date when this style was first used.
I'm not so good with the transition of fashions in military clothing, armours and weapons at the turn of the 15th Century and into the 16th. I think Stuart of Army Royal fame would be much better placed to make that judgement.
I have spoken to Pete about the range since he first sent me pics of the green. Pete says they are good for Flodden. He's quite a knowledgeable chap too so his word is worth taking.
Alternatively, if you have the now OOP Foundry book Armies of the 16th Century, Armies of England, Scotland, Ireland, The United Provinces and the Spanish Netherlands then there are a series of very good line drawings for early in the 16th century ergo Flodden. I've got the book but it is buried in a Very Useful Box under several Very Useful Boxes at the moment. If you can wait until after the weekend, or for someone more knowledgeable then me to jump in then I'll contract and compare?
