Dux Bellorum - new Osprey Arthurian rules
« on: 23 July 2012, 08:19:09 PM »
Just got my advance of copy of these today (I contributed some photos to the book), and I have to say that they look great.  Osprey have done a very neat print job and, I think, may be onto a winner with a whole set of rules + army lists + scenarios all included for £11.99 (especially in these days of £30 rulebooks + separate supplements...)  I will be especially interested to see how they sell, along with the other wargames rules Osprey have planned (Interwar and 'Steampunk'.)

That's a pretty cool concept. Mind doing up a whole review, including thoughts on rules?

I got the impression that their steampunk rules are going to be a big book, like Future Wars, etc...

In Her Majesty's Name (Steampunk) is definitely going to be in the same 64-page / £11.99 format.

I should have some more news on that for you soon...

(Edited at 7.45pm...)

Well, my previous version of this post had me wondering, as there was no package on my doormat when we got back from hols today...however...

Mine turned up via my neighbour about 20 mins ago!! Looks great and nice to have pics of my models in yet another book!!  ;)

I just need to order another bunch of custom bases from Warbases now, as I want to use 120mm wide units with my 28mm models like Steve Jones has done. I reckon his idea of that base size and movement distances based on multiples of 4" (as opposed to the base-widths) might just do it...
